Meet Coach Vanna

Coach Vanna is in her 3rd year of helping develop Petaluma High School volleyball. She is taking on the Freshman team, and I can guarantee that they will never be the same! She will develop an extraordinary group and is excited to get started. Vanna completed her college career at Dominican University in 2022. She ranked in the top 3 in serve/receive, serving aces and digs for her league. She has coached at Absolute Volleyball Club in Marin for the past three years in the 15s and 17s age groups in both boys and girls. Vanna has 14 years of volleyball experience.  She was a four-year varsity player at Merrill West High School.  She coached two years of boys' volleyball at West, leading them to a conference championship.  She has a wonderful energy, and knows how to bring players to the next level. She is an extraordinary coach with immense passion and knowledge and it is truly a gift to have her in this vital role.

John Pendleton

Varsity Assistant Coach

John has lived in Petaluma for the past 18 years working as a family physician. As an avid beach and grass volleyball player through high school and college he enjoyed the chance to play against top players in Southern California while attending UCLA. He switched to indoor volleyball in his 20’s and 30’s playing middle blocker on club volleyball teams on the east coast. John is excited for the opportunity to help our students develop their skills and create balance between academics and athletics while spending less time on their phones! He has coached youth sports in a variety of settings including PYSL and Petaluma National Little League.

Stella Schwappach
